- Imperative sentence is used to give command or instruction for somebody else to do something.
- It always begins with a verb. We don’t need to use subject in the imperative sentence.
Example:
- stand up (Right)
- you stand up (Wrong)
- Imperative sentence is often used in procedural text, such as recipes, rules of something, manual etc.
- Besides, it can also be used to give a suggestion and to make a request.
Example:
- Take this vitamin. It will keep you healthy.
- Carry this bag for me, please.
